Notice.
SEC Brewery is an independent concept brand. This notice explains the limited information collected while we test audience interest. Beer and merchandise are not currently available for sale through this website.
What we collect
- If you join the founding list, we collect your email address, confirmation that you are 21 or older, marketing consent, and the time of consent.
- If you vote on a can or line, we store a randomly generated browser identifier, the selection, and timestamps so one browser does not create unlimited duplicate votes.
- If you pitch a beer, we collect the submitted name and any optional tagline, story, beer-style, or reference image you provide. When contributor verification is enabled, our verification provider processes your mobile number and sends a one-time code. We store a keyed one-way fingerprint and the final four digits—not the full number—to recognize the verified account, prevent abuse, and enforce moderation decisions.
- Our hosting provider may process ordinary technical information such as IP address, browser details, requests, and security logs to deliver and protect the site.
How we use it
We use this information to operate the site, measure audience preferences, review submitted ideas, protect forms from abuse, and send brand updates to people who requested them. Votes are audience signals; they do not automatically approve a product or design.
Sharing and selling
We do not sell personal information. Information may be processed by service providers that host the site, store submissions, verify contributor phone numbers, or eventually deliver requested emails. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect the site and its users.
Connected social platforms
SEC Brewery may connect company-owned accounts on Pinterest, LinkedIn, YouTube, X, and other named social platforms to an internal, founder-operated control plane. When a connection is enabled, we may receive the company account identifier, profile details, granted permissions, authorization tokens, and first-party content or performance data needed to verify the account, stage founder-approved material, and measure results. We do not offer these connections to customers or use them to access unrelated personal accounts.
Connection credentials and tokens, if issued, are kept in restricted server-side storage and are not placed in public site code or repositories. We retain them only while the company connection is needed. Disconnecting or revoking access ends future API access, and stored credentials are deleted or rotated as operationally required. Each connected platform also processes data under its own privacy policy and provides its own revocation controls.
Retention and choices
We retain signup and voting data while it supports audience research and brand operations, then delete or anonymize it when it is no longer reasonably needed. You may unsubscribe from marketing through any future email. To request access, correction, or deletion, contact daniel@secbeers.com.
Browser storage
The site uses local browser storage for a random voting identifier and session storage to remember the age confirmation during a visit. Verified contributors also receive a secure, HTTP-only session cookie so they do not need a new code for every idea. Clearing browser data resets those device-level values and signs the contributor out.
Updates
We will update this notice when our data practices, service providers, analytics, commerce, or contact details materially change.
Audience measurement
We record limited first-party pageview information, including the page visited, referring page, campaign parameters, and event time. We do not store an IP address, advertising identifier, or precise location in this event record.
When configured, Google Analytics may also measure site use. Google’s processing is governed by its own terms and privacy controls. We use these measurements to understand which stories and campaigns resonate, maintain the site, and improve future releases.
